Take a moment and take stock of your skills, and you can start to match up what online jobs line up with your skills. Knowing your skill set will help you decide how you can make money and the path you should take.
Transferable experience
Even though you do not have experience in the online environment, you most likely have many transferable skills.
I currently teach coding online, and when I started, I didn’t have any coding experience. What I did have was teaching experience, and when I say teaching experience, I was not a teacher in the traditional way. I was teaching fitness and working at the community centers.
I was able to transfer my experience and skills from my previous job and apply it online.
Familiarize yourself with the online environment.
Being able to make money online, you should have some necessary skills in the online environment. You should know about web browsers, email, digital calendars, file-sharing systems, internet speeds, WIFI.
Depending on what you decide to do online, you will have to acquire some skills if you do not already possess it. The great thing is that you can pick these things up along the way.
For example, if you decide to do online teaching, you can practice the online platforms on your own time, watch a few YouTube videos on how to navigate the online meeting environment.
Know the requirements of the jobs you are applying for
Just like any other job you would apply for, you must know what the employer is seeking. You can make money online by working for someone else, do some in-depth research.
Then upgrade your skills before applying. If you’re very familiar with the internet environment, you can pick-up a lot of the things you need to navigate online within a day or two. You have to tap into your inner student and be willing to learn, test, and try things.
Or you can take a course to brush up on your computer skills.
Decide if you want to start a business or find a job
If you are looking to make money online, you should think about how you want to make money. Do you want to find a job and work for someone else? Or, do you want to make it a business and make your own money online.
When looking for a job, many jobs may not necessarily require that you have experience working online, but they may require that you have experience in that field.
The great thing about working online and the many companies out there is that they train you for the job.
Most companies look at the individual more than the experience. They wanted to see if you will be dedicated to the job and are willing to learn and pick up new skills.
If you decide to work for yourself, then this is great. You can get started right away, and the remarkable thing about online business is that if you stumble along the way, it is never the end.

There are many creative ways you can make money this way just by sharing your daily life. You can talk about products, share some insightful information, or discuss current events.
Teaching online
You can become an online teacher, either working for a company or creating your own content.
Teaching English online is very popular for work at home/online ways to make money.
You can also teach other skills you know, either by sharing them on your vlog or creating your content for a course you can sell online.
There are also many ways you can sell your teaching services or course online. You can create a digital course and sell it on Udemy, or you can try to sell it through your own website.
